May 2012: Roald Ruiter wins SPIN’s best bachelor thesis prize.
Our former bachelor student Roald Ruiter has won the final of the “best bachelor thesis” competition organized by the Dutch Physics Association (NNV) and the Dutch Physics Students Association (SPIN). The three finalists presented their work on the “Fysica Chemie 2012” symposium to the jury (Leo van Kouwenhoven and Diederik Jekel).
Roald’s bachelor research in our group was aimed at optimizing organic solar cells, and measuring exciton diffusion lengths in these solar cells. Exciton diffusion length is an important parameter in the evaluation of the solar cell’s efficiency.
